Preparation Optional toppings Cilantro Avocado Sliced lime Heat the oil in a large stock pot over medium-high heat. Add the turkey and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until lightly browned. Add the onion, garlic, diced tomatoes, green chilies and spices and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes over medium heat. Add in sweet potato, tomato sauce, broth or water, and the drained beans, then simmer over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sweet potato is fully cooked. Season with salt and pepper to taste and top with cilantro, avocado and a slice of lime.
